Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) wants to make Gujarat adventure sports more available for all. To promote the same it is hoping to develop skydiving, paragliding and bungee-jumping in the state.
M M Pathan, secretary, Sports Authority of Gujarat says:
SAG is taking efforts to set up dropping zone in Gujarat for skydiving. If the proposed centre comes up it will be the first in India. We are planning it in such a way that adventure sports are accessible to many people. Currently, adventure sports is a costly package.
Entrepreneur Sahil Jain says:
I’ve also enjoyed river rafting and paragliding. In Ahmedabad, we could still explore areas like Thol lake. Nearby places like Jhanjhri offer natural beauty and trekking excitement. However, I’m hopeful that we will soon have a full fledged adventure sports centre close to Ahmedabad.
Well I hope that the time taken by the government to do this is not too long or adventure enthusiasts might grow out of their adventure thrill dreams.
