With an objective to promote India as a favourite tourist destination, the government is taking various measures. India has a rich wild life culture, which can be transformed as a big tourism attraction.
In order to harness this natural wealth , National Tourism Advisory Council (NTAC) has given its recommendations to set up a ‘wilderness tourism policy‘. According to the council the wild safaris, treks and overnight camping should be promoted as it not only make people aware of it but will also help a lot to preserve the country’s rich flora and fauna.

The revenue generated by these activities will be used to conserve sanctuaries and for the development of local community. The sub-committee also suggest that government should ensure maximum participation of local communities, especially in the tribal areas.
The NTAC will also join hands with the ministry of environment and forests to curb incessant development in protected areas.
