This sure is the season to be in India with Deepawali around the corner. Well 10 days leading up to the festival Indian women celebrate the feastival of Karva Chauth. It falls on the 10th October.
The gist of which comes down to one thing that by keeping a fast on this day( one can not even drink water), the ladies husband lives a longer life.
Bangles are bought, henna is applied, loads of eats are in the market( for the time of breaking the fast) . All the ladies dress up in their bridal best! Definitely a time to be in India.

Well Sandeep the english translations of hindi words give one a lot of leeway , if you check the post carefully Kadwa Chauth has been referred to as Karva Chauth in the paragraph. You see both are correct . Enjoy reading the blog.
