In a press release, UNESCO has announced four new cultural sites on 28th June 2007 at Christchurch, New Zealand.

1.Iwami Ginzan Silver Mines ( Japan)
2.Parthian Fortess of Nisa ( Turkmenistan )
3.Sydney Oprah House ( Australia )
4.Red Fort Complex ( India)
Congratulations to all, let the celebration begin in India for making it , firecrackers, eating sweets, street dancing. Red Fort joins the list of Unesco List of World Heritage Sites,others are Taj Mahal, Konark,Ajanta and Ellora caves, Khajuraho.
Red Fort of Shahjahanabad was the new capital of the 5th Mugal Emperor of India Shajahan ( 1628-58 ).The place is designed as an imitation of paradise as described in the Quran. Thus the inscription on the Lahore gate which reads, If there be a paradise on earth,it is here ,it is here.It is an imposing fort considered the zenith of Mughal creativity. It reflects fusion from Persian, Timurid and Hindu tradition in building. It continued to play significant role in the revolt of 1857,the declaration of Indian independence in 1947 by Nehru in his famous speech
When the world sleeps at the strike of midnight , India will awake
was read out here and the national flag hoisted. Republic day is celebrated every year here and the President gives his speech with Indian Ary displaying it’s might.
Perhaps now we will see better parking, its so far now, the shops inside will be gone and the falling roof of the domes with mirror work will shine.
